
Gadget tracker leads police to GenTri robbery suspect
Police arrested a robbery suspect after tracking one of the stolen gadgets through its locator feature in General Trias City, Cavite on Nov. 20.Initial investigation by the General Trias City Police Station (CCPS) revealed that the victim left her apartment in Barangay Biclatan for a medical check-up at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.
Upon returning home, she found her doorknob and padlock forcibly opened.
Missing from her belongings were a laptop, a tablet computer, two cameras, and P20,000 cash, all valued at P180,000.
Authorities conducted follow-up operations using CCTV footage and the tracking features of the stolen devices, leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest. Recovered from his possession were the gadgets stolen from the victim, as well as the t-shirt he was wearing when he committed the crime, as seen in the CCTV footage.
The suspect is now under the custody of General Trias CCPS.
